По пути они преодолевали множество препятствий: переходили через бурную речку на самодельном плоту, пробирались через густой лес, где встретили ёжика, который стал их проводником, и даже разгадали загадку старого дуба, чтобы найти ключ к тайнику. Но самым удивительным оказалось то, что клад, который они нашли, был не золотом или драгоценностями, а старыми письмами и фотографиями, рассказывающими историю деревни Простоквашино. Федор и его друзья узнали, что их деревня когда-то была центром ярмарок и праздников, а жители славились своим гостеприимством и умением веселиться. Ребята решили возродить традиции и устроить большой праздник для всей деревни.
