1. Thanksgiving was approaching quickly. John Jr and Yuēhàn were wanting to understand how the first Thanksgiving become known. John Jr went to the internet and began telling Yuēhàn about the Mayflower and Pilgrims. 2. John Jr explained that the Mayflower was an English sailing ship that transported a group of English families, known today as the Pilgrims, from England to the New World. After 10 weeks at sea, Mayflower, with 102 passengers, reached the United States, dropping anchor near Cape Cod, Massachusetts, on November 21, 1620. The captain of the Mayflower was Christopher Jones. 3. John Jr went on that The pilgrims wanted to separate from the Church of Egland and they believed God wanted them to voyage to America. During the voyage, the pilgrims passed the time by reading by candlelight or playing cards and games. Upon the arrival on land, the pilgrims were surprised to see the ground frozen and that led to their inability to plant and harvest food. 4. John Jr told Yuehan about the native Indians giving a hand to the pilgrims. The Indians taught the pilgrims how to gather food and survival skills. The help from the Indians save 53 pilgrims from ultimately perishing. Most of the pilgrims died from diseases described as a mixture of scurvy, pneumonia, and tuberculosis. 5. The following year, the 53 pilgrims and 90 Wampanoag Indians had a celebration that we now call Thanksgiving. The Mayflower was torn apart after Christopher Jones passed away. 6. John Jr and Yuehan started counting down the days to Thanksgiving. They planned a special tribute and prayer for the Pilgrim and Indians!

Scene 1: Waking Up Early in the Morning

Patrick was a 6-year-old boy who loved dinosaurs more than anything in the world. He had toy dinosaurs, dinosaur books, and even dinosaur pajamas. But what Patrick really wanted was to live among the dinosaurs. One night, as Patrick lay in bed, he wished with all his heart, I wish I could see real dinosaurs! Suddenly, his room filled with a soft green light. When he opened his eyes, he wasn’t in his room anymore—he was in a jungle! Patrick looked around and gasped. Tall trees swayed above him, and the ground rumbled under his feet. Then, he heard a loud THUD… THUD… THUD! Patrick turned and saw a giant dinosaur with a long neck eating leaves from a tree. “Wow! A Brachiosaurus!” Patrick whispered. The dinosaur looked down at him and gave a gentle nod. Then, Patrick heard a deep RUMBLE. He looked to his left and saw another huge dinosaur with a long neck and a thick tail. “A Brontosaurus!” Patrick said with a big smile. The Brontosaurus made a low, friendly sound and walked past him. Suddenly, the ground shook again. This time, it was different. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Patrick turned and saw the most amazing dinosaur of all—a Tyrannosaurus Rex! The T-Rex roared, but it didn’t seem scary. Instead, it looked at Patrick with curious eyes. “You’re my favorite dinosaur!” Patrick said, feeling excited. The T-Rex let out a playful growl and lowered its head. Patrick climbed onto its back. “Let’s go!” he cheered. The T-Rex ran through the jungle, past rivers and volcanoes, past flying Pteranodons and small running raptors. Patrick laughed and held on tight. It was the best adventure ever! But then, a soft voice whispered, Patrick… Patrick… time to wake up! Patrick blinked and found himself back in his bed. His mom was standing by his side, smiling. “Did you have a good dream?” she asked. Patrick grinned. “The BEST dream ever!” And from that day on, every night, Patrick wished to visit the land of dinosaurs again. The End.

In a quaint town, Ivan lived happily with his family. Each morning, a cardinal visited his window. Ivan did chores and listened to his mom's travel stories. His mom, a businesswoman, shared tales, while his dad kept things running. Ivan's brother was off to college soon. Feeling inadequate, Ivan confided in the bird. It assured him he'd fly one day. Despite doubts, the bird's reassurance persisted. One day, Ivan made a mess trying to fix something. Distressed, he found solace with the cardinal, who shared its journey from grounded to flying high. This shifted Ivan's perspective. He embraced his unique journey and gained confidence. In the end, Ivan understood that growth takes time. He found joy in his progress, knowing that flying isn't about comparison but personal growth.

1. John Jr and Yuēhàn was learning about the different wars that helped shape America. They came across the Mexican American War and looked into it a bit more. John Jr showed Yuēhàn how to look stuff up on the internet. 2. John Jr discovered The Mexican–American War,, was an invasion of Mexico by the United States Army from 1846 to 1848. It followed the 1845 American annexation of Texas, which Mexico still considered its territory because it refused to recognize the Treaties of Velasco, signed by President Antonio López de Santa Anna after he was captured by the Texian Army during the 1836 Texas Revolution. The Republic of Texas was de facto an independent country, but most of its Anglo-American citizens who had moved from the United States to Texas after 1822 wanted to be annexed by the United States. 3. John Jr started to explain to Yuēhàn the key battles of the Mexican American War. Battle of Monterrey The first major battle of the war, which took place in 1846. Mexican forces were able to repel the first few attacks by U.S. forces, but eventually surrendered. Battle of Buena Vista A turning point in the war, as Santa Anna's decision to attack Taylor prevented him from reinforcing Vera Cruz. Battle of Cerro Gordo The First and Second Tennessee Infantry regiments distinguished themselves in this battle, which was the first of a series of American victories that led to the capture of Mexico City. Battle of Chapultepec A decisive battle in 1847, where troops led by Gen. Winfield Scott overwhelmed a group of cadets studying at the military academy in the castle. Battle of Palo Alto The first major engagement of the war, which took place on May 8, 1846. The American army was able to defeat the Mexican army, despite the Mexican army being much larger, due to their superior weapons and training. 4. John Jr and Yuēhàn found out Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo ended the Mexican War and annexed a large amount of territory to California.

Emery had a dream. He dreamt of flying in space, wearing a cool suit. He woke up, excited. "I want to be an astronaut!" he told his Papa Reuben. Papa Reuben said, "You can champ! Learn about space and work hard." Emery asked Papa Reuben about space. They read books and talked about stars. In school, he listened in class and loved learning about space. At night, he looked at the stars and imagined flying among them. One day, an astronaut visited the school. "Work hard for your dreams," the astronaut said. Emery smiled. He knew learning and dreaming could make his dream come true. He kept learning, always curious and happy. Emery knew that dreaming and learning were the ways to reach the stars. THE END

1. In a snowy land far away, there was a little penguin named Pippin who dreamed of going on an adventure beyond the icy hills. 2. One day, a strong wind blew through the icy mountains, and Pippin heard a faint cry for help coming from the distance. 3. Determined to help, Pippin put on his warm scarf and waddled bravely toward the sound, his little heart beating fast with excitement. 4. As Pippin climbed over snowy hills, he met a lost snowflake who had fallen from the sky and couldn’t find its way back. 5. With his sharp eyes and quick thinking, Pippin spotted a swirling storm cloud above, knowing that was where the snowflake belonged. 6. He slid down the ice with the snowflake gently in his flippers, ready to return it to the sky where it belonged. 7. With a leap and a cheer, Pippin tossed the snowflake high into the air, and it sparkled as it returned to the storm cloud with a twirl. 8. Proud and happy, Pippin waddled back home, knowing that even the smallest penguin could do something brave and wonderful.

1. John Jr and Yuēhàn was excited for their family trip to Gettysburg battlefield. Before packing their suitcases, John Jr and Yuēhàn looked at some history books to have a better understanding of how Gettysburg battlefield was so important. 2. John Jr gave Yuēhàn some history about the Civil War. The American Civil War was a war between the Union (Northern US States) and the Confederacy (Southern US States) that lasted from 1861-1865. The war was fought over disagreements about slavery, states vs. federal rights, the election of Abraham Lincoln, and the economy. 3. John Jr found some information on the battle of Gettysburg. The Battle of Gettysburg was a three-day battle fought between Union and Confederate forces between July 1 and July 3, 1863, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The battle, which was won by the Union, is widely considered the Civil War's turning point, ending the Confederacy's aspirations to establish an independent nation. It was the Civil War's bloodiest battle, claiming over 50,000 combined casualties over three days. 4. Yuēhàn found some information of the final battle and shared it with John Jr. The Battle of Palmito Ranch took place on May 12–13, 1865, near the Rio Grande in Cameron County, Texas. The battle was fought between Confederate forces under Col. John S. “Rip” Ford and Union forces under Col. Theodore H. Barrett. The battle resulted in a Confederate victory. 5. John. Jr and Yuēhàn finished packing and loaded up the car. They had a wonderful time in Gettysburg and even saw a Civil War reenactment.
